Class Descriptions
Mobility Stretch: A mindful practice that begins with gentle core stability work, then focuses on stretching, fascial release, and functional movement. Using breath and body awareness, we calm the nervous system while releasing tension patterns and improving how you move. This class counteracts a lifestyle of sitting and desk work and also supports sports and athletics—expect improved joint comfort, stability, strength, posture, and lower cortisol levels. Appropriate for all levels.
Mobility Stretch 1 moves at a gentler pace; Mobility Stretch 2 is slightly faster and sometimes includes lunges on the knees.
Format: ~15 minutes of warm-up and strengthening, followed by ~45 minutes of stretching.
Pilates 1: A mind-body practice focused on a healthy back, muscle strength, and fluid movement. Challenge your core, improve your posture, and increase functional strength and flexibility while lowering stress. Appropriate for beginners or continuing students who enjoy an entry-level Pilates practice. Some classes begin with a 5-10 minute deep breakdown of foundational movements.
Format: ~50 minutes of strengthening and lengthening, followed by ~10 minutes of stretching, with breathwork woven throughout.
Pilates 1-2 with Weights, Pilates 2 with Weights, Pilates 2-3 with Weights: A challenging, flow-focused practice that builds on Pilates 1 with greater focus on strength, endurance, and flexibility. We use one or two different props each class; 1-6 pound hand and ankle weights, resistance bands, and small Pilates balls (9"), incorporating principles from sports medicine. Props are available at the studio; online participants provide their own. Appropriate for experienced Pilates practitioners ready to work toward deeper strength and endurance goals while lowering stress. Pilates 2-3 with Weights incorporates more flow, inversions, and variety.
Format: ~50 minutes of strengthening and lengthening, followed by ~10 minutes of stretching, with breathwork woven throughout.
