TRAVEL WELLNESS SPECIALIST
Samira Shuruk
Bespoke movement, mindfulness, and behavioral change programming
for luxury travel, private expeditions, and corporate retreats — anywhere in the world.
Featured expert in:
I integrate seamlessly with expedition teams, luxury travel companies, and private advisors to deliver world-class wellness programming wherever the journey takes your clients — on a yacht deck, at a remote conservation camp, on a mountain trail, or within a luxury estate.
With four decades teaching movement and a 25-year career as a professional dance artist performing for royalty, diplomats, and distinguished international guests, I’m accustomed to high-trust environments where discretion, cultural sensitivity, and reading the room are non-negotiable.
Programming draws from Pilates, somatic movement, nervous system regulation, meditation, mobility work, resistance training, and behavioral change coaching — tailored to every fitness level from professional athletes to guests in their 80s. My Pilates lineage traces two instructors from Joseph Pilates. My meditation practice has roots in the Thich Nhat Hanh tradition.
In a wellness landscape increasingly dominated by technology and optimization, my work centers on what actually makes longevity worth having — presence, joy, nervous system resilience, clarity of intuition, and the ability to disconnect deeply enough to reconnect with what matters.
I work in support of your vision. Your project leads. I enhance the experience without overshadowing it.

The Difference Is in the Depth
Four Decades of Expertise
Teaching since 1986. Thousands of students — from complete beginners to professional athletes, from corporate executives to clients in their mid-80s. Certified Behavioral Change Specialist. This isn’t a side career or an Instagram opportunity. This is a life’s work.
Multi-Discipline Fluency
Pilates, yoga, somatic movement, nervous system regulation, mobility and stretch, mindfulness meditation, resistance training, behavioral change coaching, and cultural dance. Your clients get one expert who draws from all of it — not a menu of separate services.
Discretion & Adaptability
Twenty-five years performing for royalty, diplomats, and distinguished guests taught me how high-trust environments work. I read the room, respect the dynamics, coordinate with existing teams, and adapt programming in real time. Your project manager’s vision stays front and centre.
Real-World Adaptability
Sciatica, post-surgical recovery, pregnancy, chronic pain, high-level athletes, absolute beginners, guests managing complex health situations. I work with injuries and limitations daily and collaborate with medical professionals and healthcare teams — complementary evidence-based disciplines working together for the whole person.
“From start to finish you have far exceeded my high expectations, yet again!”
— Sue, repeat guest — Morocco & Kenya
“From the very first interaction, she put me at ease and made me feel confident and supported every step of the way. This was my first time traveling internationally.”
— Lauren, Morocco
“I wouldn’t have been able to do the gorilla trekking through the jungle without your classes. So, thank you!”
— Steve, returning from Uganda
Frequently Asked Questions
WORKING TOGETHER
-
It starts with a conversation.
You share the project — destination, dates, group profile, goals, any sensitivities. I design a custom program and provide a quote. Once confirmed, I handle all wellness planning and pre-travel preparation, including advising on equipment needs or sourcing travel-friendly gear for smaller groups.
On-site, I integrate with your team and adapt as the journey unfolds.
-
That depends entirely on the trip.
On an expedition, it might be a 20-minute mobility session before a dawn dive and a longer stretch and meditation after a full day of trekking. For a celebration retreat, it’s typically a 60–75 minute morning movement session and an evening restorative session, with the day free for your programming. Corporate and leadership groups might dedicate several days to deep habit formation work or somatic practices alongside daily movement.
Every program is designed individually around the journey, the guests, and what they actually need — there is no default schedule.
-
No — that expertise falls under the purveyance of the project manager, travel advisor or home office administration. I focus on wellness programming and design while destination logistics, accommodations, and excursions are handled by the appropriate team member. We collaborate to make sure everything flows seamlessly.
-
Collaboratively — it’s how I’ve always worked. I coordinate regularly with medical professionals and healthcare teams for my students, and for decades I’ve worked alongside multi-day event specialists managing complex, high-budget productions where timing, discretion, and reading the room are everything. I take direction from the project lead, adapt to the group’s rhythm, and communicate proactively. We all work together for the guests’ ultimate experience.
GUESTS & GROUPS
-
This is my specialty. Forty years of teaching bodies of every ability means every session includes modifications and options so everyone feels challenged but never overwhelmed or left behind.
-
I work with injuries and limitations daily in my regular practice — sciatica, post-surgical recovery, chronic pain, pregnancy, and more. Everyone gets what they need. And the results are measurable: students who’ve cancelled scheduled surgeries, resolved chronic conditions, recovered from injuries their providers hadn’t been able to solve, and in some cases been guided to seek testing that turned out to be critically important.
I coordinate with medical professionals and healthcare teams as a matter of course. Safety is always the priority, and real outcomes are the expectation.
-
From intimate groups of 2–8 to larger gatherings of 16 or more. Programming scales and adapts accordingly.
-
Depending on needs: nervous system regulation and stress resilience, trauma-informed somatic work, post-injury or post-surgical recovery, pre/post-pregnancy wellness, perimenopause and menopause support, high-performance training, chronic pain management, behavioral change and habit formation, or any specific wellness objectives. We’ll discuss specifics in our first conversation.
LOGISTICS
-
Yes. I travel worldwide. I have deep cultural expertise in Morocco, East Africa, and Central America, but I design and deliver programming anywhere your clients are going — on land or at sea.
For equipment, I’m flexible: I can advise your team on what’s needed, work with whatever’s on-site, or travel with curated gear for smaller groups. We’ll figure out the smartest approach together.
-
From long weekends (3–4 days) to two-week journeys are most common. Duration shapes the programming depth and pricing.
-
I carry professional liability insurance and maintain a network of trusted wellness professionals as backup. In the unlikely event of an emergency, we’ll work together on rescheduling or alternatives per our agreement.
-
Yes, and this is one of my favourite parts.
Pre-trip, we can use phone or virtual sessions to begin building genuine anticipation — not just logistics, but the kind of emotional readiness that makes guests arrive already open to the experience. As a Behavioral Change Specialist, I understand the neuroscience of anticipation and how to use it well.
Post-trip, I can provide follow-up sessions, resources, and custom guided meditations recorded with professional equipment — a thoughtful way to help guests reconnect with the feelings and memories of the journey long after they’re home. That kind of unexpected extra is often a contributor to guests maintaining vivid memories so they share more adventure tales with their peers.

-
I do — I’ve been leading international wellness retreats since 2017, currently to Morocco, Honduras, and Kenya. These experiences have been invaluable in shaping how I design programming around a journey rather than in isolation — understanding the rhythm of travel days, reading group energy as it shifts, and knowing when guests need invigoration versus quiet restoration. Leading my own retreats made me a far better collaborator on other people’s projects.
-
I teach in English, but I have deep cultural fluency working with international groups across Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian, and East African cultures. I know how to create inclusive, respectful spaces across languages and life experiences.
