Specialty Topics and Workshops
I teach workshops and specialty classes throughout the year on the topics below. All are grounded in current science and include somatic work, and all offer skills to take home and use right away.
-
Back pain is one of the most common complaints I hear and it affects 80% of adults. It affects desk workers, athletes and yogis alike. Good posture isn't about sitting up straight — it's about how your body organizes itself in motion and at rest, and most of the habits we've built are working against us. This workshop covers the science behind disc issues, sciatica, and muscle guarding, and teaches the movement and awareness practices that actually help. Students with scoliosis have measured improvement in their spinal curves. Others no longer need the chiropractor, no longer experience sciatica or bulging discs, and multiple students consistently measure taller at the doctor.
-
Most of what people have been taught about the pelvic floor is incomplete or flat-out wrong. This workshop covers how the pelvic floor actually works, why Kegels alone aren't the answer, and what movement and awareness practices make a real difference. I teach this class for women and for men, as it is important for everyone. Students have cancelled scheduled surgeries, and others tell me they can finally travel again without worrying about incontinence.
-
Joint stiffness and loss of range aren't inevitable. This workshop covers what's actually happening in your joints as time goes on, and the practices that maintain comfortable, functional movement for everyday life. Complex topics such as orthopedic injuries and arthritis deserve multi-faceted approaches to improvement. One student, two years after a knee replacement and stuck with limited range, regained full mobility and got back to windsurfing. For athletes, we go further into building strength and power at end range — the kind of work that improves performance and prevents the injuries that sideline you.
-
Your body is doing extraordinary things — your movement should support that, not work against it. This workshop covers safe, effective exercise through pregnancy and recovery, including diastasis recti repair even years after your children were born. Students have reported easier labors, faster recoveries, and one mom carrying twins said it made all the difference in both.
-
As someone diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood, I teach this one from personal experience as much as professional training. Movement is one of the most effective tools for emotional regulation, focus, and managing the ADHD brain — it's nervous system regulation you can feel working in real time. This workshop is part education, part practice, and entirely without judgment.
-
Willpower isn't the problem. This workshop looks at what the science of neuroplasticity and behavioral change actually tells us about making things stick, including how your nervous system drives the patterns you're trying to change. You'll walk away with your own realistic, personalized framework that students and retreat guests report actually work.
-
Whether you've never meditated or you've tried and decided you're "bad at it," this workshop meets you where you are. We cover practical, evidence-based techniques for nervous system regulation, stress resilience, emotional clarity, and building the kind of intuitive awareness that serves you in everyday life and high-pressure moments alike.
-
A brief dive into the rich cultural traditions behind MENAHT dance forms, followed by a full class learning the movements themselves. We will also learn a folk dance from the region. No experience needed, no costumes required. You'll work muscles you forgot you had and laugh more than you expected.
-
This isn't an abs class. True core work involves your whole trunk, your breath, and your nervous system. We go deeper than crunches — into the stabilizers, the coordination, the connection between your core and how you move through the world.
-
Flexibility is passive. Mobility is functional — it's your body's ability to move well through its full range with strength and control. This workshop covers what limits your movement, how to address it, and why mobility matters more as the years go on (and for anyone who wants to stay active, whether that's hiking, skiing, or keeping up with grandchildren).
-
Balance isn't something you only worry about when you're older, though it matters enormously then. It's also foundational for skiing, surfing, hiking uneven terrain, and every sport that requires you to react and recover in real time. This workshop trains your proprioceptive system and builds the kind of stability that keeps you confident on your feet, whatever the context.

Fascia affects everything from flexibility to pain to how you recover from a long flight or a hard hike. This workshop teaches you how to work with your fascial system using simple, effective techniques you can do anywhere — at home, in a hotel room, on the ground at a campsite. No painful foam roller needed.
