Pilates classes on Zoom and in Columbia, MD

Pilates

Get the amazing benefits of strengthening your back, glutes, abs, shoulders and hips and finish with gentle stretching!

Pilates offers you great strength, mobility, flexibility and mind-body benefits. Most of the exercises you’ll find cross over with physical therapy. In fact several local physical therapists direct their patients to continue to exericise with Samira, and she incorporates both her dance background and sports-conditioning knowledge into her classes. Samira’s students’ successes include measuring taller at the doctors, increasing bone density, improving diastasis rectii, eliminating sciatic and other back/hip pain, and more. Modifications and options are given to accomodate all abilities.

Pilates classes are 60 minutes long: 45 - 47 minutes strengthening & 12-15 minutes stretching.
Levels offered: Intro, 1, 1-2, 1-2 Plus, 2.
Which level is right for you? Find out.
Class needs: In-studio we have everything you need. For Zoom classes you just need a mat, a yoga strap and a blanket.
For Levels 1-2, 1-2 Plus and 2, we incorporate resistance props such as hand weights, ankle weights, and resistance bands.

Mobility Stretch

Enjoy the wonderful benefits of gentle core stability strengthening plus mobility work and gentle stretching to ease your joints and feel great!

Mobility Stretch classes offers you gentle core strengthening with a focus on mobility, flexibility, joint pain relief, balance, and mind-body benefits. Many of the exercises you’ll find cross over with physical therapy. Samira developed these classes in response to her own hip and back osteoarthritis and she incorporates both her dance background and sports-conditioning knowledge into her classes for injury prevention, pain-free joints, postural support, and to support an active lifestyle. Modifications and options are given to accommodate all abilities in Mobility Stretch 1.

Mobility Stretch classes are 60 minutes long: 15 minutes strengthening and 45 minutes stretching.
Levels offered: 1, 2
Which level is right for you? Find out.
Class needs: In-studio we have everything you need. Via Zoom you just need a mat, a yoga strap and a blanket, as well as some wall space.
For some classes you’ll need to have a chair nearby.
