Performance Agreement
For most performances a verbal or email agreement is sufficient. For performances involving travel, or a
longer time investment a contract will need to be drawn up. Please read the following so that you
understand what the dancer needs, and so that you understand the services the dancer is providing you.
FOR HIRING PARTY/EMPLOYER
These few basic details can ensure a quality performance under optimum conditions
The hiring party will provide:
** Complete address and driving directions to performance location
** Contact phone number of performance location
** Dance surface clear of food, liquids, stones or other debris
** Safe parking
** A formal introduction of the performer
** A safe environment for the performer and performer's property
** A CD player near the performance area (or DJ or live band)
** A private dressing area with mirror, if needed (usually not needed)
** The host of the event and/or owner/manager of the venue will be notified of the expected entertainment
Once we have confirmed a time and date we will consider this a verbal binding contract. In order to
ensure timely subsequent performances later in the evening, the performer shall wait no more than 20
minutes past the arranged performance time before additional charges will be made to the hiring party.
This additional charge is $10 for the first 15 minutes and $25 for each 15 minutes thereafter. There is a
charge of $25 for any returned check. If the hiring party, or anyone at the event wants to video tape the
performance, they must provide the entertainer with a copy of the recording. Any recordings or
photographs shall not be duplicated or used for commercial purposes.
FOR PERFORMING ARTIST
Samira Shuruk will provide the following
** A tasteful belly dance performance for the agreed upon time, with the agreed upon props
** An authentic, vibrant, professional costume will be worn
** If there is no live band, Samira will provide an appropriate music CD made specifically for the event
** If there is a delay in Samira's arrival time, she will call the phone number given to inform the hiring
party of the delay.
** If arriving in costume, a cover up will be worn for propriety.
** If teaching is part of the performance, Samira will provide up to 15 hip scarves for use in the class
** Time allowing, Samira will be happy to pose for souvenir pictures after the performance
** In the rare event an escort/security is needed, Samira will inform the hiring party what the extra fee will
be.
If a deposit is required:
Deposits may be paid by check or via Paypal. Ask Samira for her Paypal ID or mailing address.
Non-refundable deposits must be paid more than 2 weeks before the event. If for any reason the
performer must back out (dire emergency only), she will provide the hiring party with numbers of other
comparable performers and she will pass on the deposit to that other performer.
